MIL hits the nail on the head

Letting go of things weighing you down for a long period of time can be so liberating :). My MIL said this to me just yesterday and I so agree, while she is letting go of caring for 2 of her grandchildren and I am letting go of something completly different we are still on the same page. And lets face it, being on the same page as your MIL can be a rare thing ;) even when you like your her :D!!

And so this brings me to, why is it so hard to let go of things in you life that are no longer suiting you, things that are doing more harm than good, things that are pulling negativity into your life? Why is it so hard to move on to other more prodcutive areas of your life and focus on the good? What other reasons than the typical change is hard.......

hmm, that is a good question. DId you ask your MIL? She sounds full of wisdom, maybe she will have a more insightful answer besides change is hard. I myself can only think that perhaps it wasn't all negative, and you recall the positive, and you miss those times. On a side note, not all negative experiences are bad, are they? Don't they serve as learning tools?

No Anjelica, I dont believe that is it. I dont know why I would miss babysitting an adult who acts like a child when she has children of her own really, I dont miss it. Ive come to beleive that maybe it was just a habit to try to control the situation out of concern for the children. Im at this point glad to let go though.

The baby-sitting is not the positive,..it is the positives that I say is perhaps what you recall (somewhere) and therefore that is why you feel a longing for something. Given the circumstances, of course the negative(s) is at the top of your memories, but that is not ALL that was there, and I know you know that.
